Averatec N1200 Netbook – Thinnest & Lightest

With Less than one inch thick and just 2.2 lbs in weight, this recently unveiled Averatec N1200 Ultra-portable netbook is the thinnest & lightest netbook on the market. Ultra-slim LED LCD, Ultra-slim hard drive and lithium polymer battery made it possible for the Averate N1200 Netbook to be less than one inch thick.

Specs for N1200 includes 10-inch wide LED LCD display @ 1024 x 600, running on Intel’s Atom N450 1.66 GigaHertz processor, GMA 3150 graphics card, Chipset Intel NM10, 1GB of RAM that can be upgraded to 2GB, 160GB Hard drive, built-in 1.3MP Webcam. Connectivity includes an Ethernet port, WLAN 802.11/n, USB 2.0 ports, bluetooth. Comes with a choice of Windows XP Home or Windows 7 Starter Edition.

Although N1200 is the world’s thinnest and lightest, one thing you won’t like it is when it comes to its 3-cell standard battery that is only good for just 3 hours of use per charge. Good thing, there is an optional 6-cell battery that can give you up to 6 hours of usage.

Averatec N1200 Netbook will be available in 3 models. All have the same Atom N450 1.66 GigaHertz processor, 1GB memory, 1.3 webcam and standard connectivity. For the base unit model, you’ll get Windows XP OS and 160GB hard drive price at $330. For the Medium-Grade model, you’ll get Windows 7 OS priced at $350. And the last is the top model which gets Windows 7 OS and 250GB Hard drive priced at $380. This netbook will be made available shortly this month.

Micro Star International unveiled a new GT series Gaming Laptop, the MSI GT660. This gaming laptop has elegant exterior design and boasts world class sound. The MSI GT660 Gaming Notebook’s specs include Core i7 processor along with GeForce GTX 285M (1 GB GDDR3 display memory) so expect a clear, true to life, real time 3D images when playing games or watching movie with this new MSI GT660. The notebook has 3 RAM slots supporting up to 12 Gigabyte of memory and can be connected to two SATA 1 Terabytes hard drive. It also comes with USB 3.0, that’s 10 times faster than USB 2.0 transferring up to 4.8 Gigabits of data per second.

In Addition, the MSI GT660 Gaming Notebook also has crisper and more faithful sound because Micro Star International worked closely with a leader in sound system design. No further detail about the specification and price about this gaming laptop but MSI is promising to say more at CeBIT next week.

Lenovo G455 and G555 AMD Notebooks

Here are the two new G-Series notebooks that lenovo recently announced and are designed for mainstream users, the G455 and G555 Notebooks together with the Lenovo C315 AIO All-in-One Desktop PC that i posted earlier. Just like lenovo c315 desktop, the Chinese vendor has not published full detail spec sheet for these G455 and G555 notebooks as yet. However, here are some of the known specs about these notebooks.

The G455 and G555 laptops have 16:9 widescreen HD displays, runs on Windows 7 and also support DirectX 10 which enable these laptops to run the Aero Peek and Aero Flip features of Windows 7. These two notebooks have the same specs but only differ in their screen sizes. The G455 has 14-inch while the G555 has 15-inch LCD Display. Both @ 1366 x 768 resolution. Specifications for these two laptops include either AMD Turion II dual-core or Athlon II and dual-core processors, ATI Radeon HD Mobility graphics, and ergonomic keyboard design.

Some of the good features are the Lenovo’s Energy Management 5.0 that helps for decreasing the power consumption and extend battery life, and also it has the Lenovo’s proprietary OneKey Rescue System for one-touch backup, repair and recovery tool.

These G455 and G55 are made for budget-conscious consumers, start at $499 and set to begin shipping in the U.S. beginning in March.

Samsung’s Transparent AMOLED Laptop

We’re getting closer to the technology that we often see only in the movie such as holographic images and transparent screens that we saw in Avatar the movie. In a few months we may be seeing futuristic transparent laptop in the shops as Samsung is planning to release their 14 inch transparent OLED display laptop within 12 months time. What you can see in the photo below is the real hand behind the clear see-through screen of the Samsung Transparent OLED Laptop.

This is one of the best product that Samsung showed off during CES 2010 together with the Ice Touch – a portable media player that is also equipped with transparent OLED display. Samsung’s 14 inch transparent AMOLED Screen Laptop is very appealing. It has thinner OLED screen, with contrast ratio of 100000:1 and also consume less power. If you are looking for a laptop to show off to your friends, i think this world’s first transparent laptop is the one that you should buy whenever it comes out.

Dell Latitude 13-inch Business Laptop

New notebook from DELL – the Latitude 13 Notebook looks much similar to Vostro 13 has been added to their Latitude range. This laptop just like Vostro 13 comes with unusually slim and thin design and is dressed up for business type. Dell claims Latitude 13 to be the ‘world’s thinnest 13″ commercial client laptop’. Dell’s Latitude 13 features a 13-inch screen, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, WWAN and also external blue-ray drive. It also comes with pre-installed business centric software.

Not sure though about other specs, but it is expected that Dell Latitude 13 will feature similar as that of Vostro V13’s specs, featuring ULV processor, 4 Gigabyte RAM, webcam and 6-cell battery. Dell Latitude 13 is expected to be out in a couple of weeks, price is also expected similar to Vostro V13 at $450 price tag.

MSI X420 X-Slim Series Laptop

ASUS Eee PC 1001P with Atom N450 Pine Trail Processor

Another netbook from Asus is about to release this coming January 6. 2009 . The Asus Eee Pc 1001P netbook – Now available at Amazon Germany as preorder item. No further information about upcoming netbook but it seems
that the design of Asus Eee Pc 1001P is identical to its predecessors, i think with slight variation on the 1005 series. Eee PC 1001P will feature the latest and the faster processor of intel – the Atom N450 processor or also known as the Atom Pine Trail processor. It will come with 10.1″ LCD screen.
