Slated for a release date in the 26th of September is the Toshiba Qosmio X500 laptop. The X500 is yet another gaming machine that will get any PC gamer thrilled. Encased in a black and red casing, the notebook offers plenty of features under the hood. Let’s see how this one fares.
Specs and features-wise, the Toshiba Qosmio X500 packs NVIDIA GTX 460M discrete graphics card alongside Optimus technology and DirectX 11 which enhances graphics support better, and support for 3D and Blu-Ray drive. The 18.4-inch gaming device also offers option for up to 8GB of RAM as well as for the solid state drive. Users can also choose between Intel Core i5 and Core i7 processors.
Lastly, they can opt for either 1080p or 720p capable screen. Other goodies include surround sound Harmon Kardon speakers which stimulates 5.1- channel audio plus a backlit keyboard, HDMI-CEC port, and multi-touchpad that allows you to swipe, rotate, scroll, and 2-finger pinch.

Boasting the new 2010 Intel Core i5-520M CPU is the MSI CR-420 notebook by MSI along with its 14-inch widescreen high definition 16:9 display. The MSI CR-420 packs an external casing coated with the company’s Cross-Hatch Color Film Print patterning.
The MSI CR-420 sports specs and features including the Intel Core i5 which delivers 20% enhanced performance targeted for business professionals. Also, it features the Intel Calpella platform technology to experience better image processing by providing full HD 1080p video capabilities.
Moreover, the laptop sports a lid coated with scratch-resistant and bright Cross-Hatch Color Film Print as well as a chiclet keyboard. It comes pre-installed with the Windows 7 Home Premium. As for the rest of the specs, it uses an HM55 chipset motherboard, a support of up to 4GB DDR3 RAM, up to 500GB of SATA II hard disk drive, a DVD writer with Double Layer optical disk. The notebook also offers an extended battery life of 15 %.
Furthermore, the MSI CR-420 device is powered by an Intel GMA HD 3D graphics chipset. It only weighs 2.2 kilograms with a 6-cell Li-Ion battery which promises up to 9-11 hours of run time. Finally, the notebook comes equipped with features including MSI’s exclusive ECO Engine energy saving technology which allows end users to choose from five management modes such as Movie, Presentation, Gaming, Office and Turbo Battery. The modes actually adjust the settings to further save the battery life.

Samsung has unveiled new lines of portable PCs – the Samsung SF Series laptops and NF Series netbooks. The company has released a total of six units under the two new lines. These newcomers targets to meet the end-users expectation regarding performance and appearance as the series features a “shark”like design and is enclosed in a glossy interior built to be durable and scratch-resistant.
Samsung SF Series Laptops
The Samsung SF series comes in a choice of 13.3-inch SF310, 14-inch SF410, and 15-inch SF510 screens. The new line comes in a matt black interior and glossy ivory exterior. Users can opt for Intel Core i3 or Core i5 processors. The series also promises up to 7.5 hours of battery life. Other specs and features include sleep-and-charge USB ports, Fast Start Technology letting you get online fast, Express Charging mode which allows you to fully charge your battery in 2-3 hours, and a chiclet keyboard. Other details regarding memory, connectivity, video weren’t disclosed specifically though.
Samsung NF Series Netbooks
Alongside the SF Series is the NF Series which consists of NF310, NF210, and NF110. The company hasn’t divulged only partial details about the NF210 and NF 110.The NF210 claims a 14-hour battery life while the NF110 is considered the most affordable among the trio.
As for the NF 310, consumers should watch out the specs and features including an Intel Atom N550 dual-core chip at 1.5 GHz. It also comes packing with a DDR3 RAM, and a 1366 x 768 pixel resolution widescreen.

Laptop manufacturer Fujitsu has revealed another device which consumers can immerse their digital lifestyle with. It’s the new Fujitsu Lifebook AH530 GFX notebook. Hyped as a high performance graphics, the notebook promises users to experience powerful external graphics for loads of graphic applications and videos. The Fujitsu Lifebook AH530 GFX comes packing with an Intel Core i3, i5, or i7 processors. Also, it has a Mobility Radeon HD550v graphics card with 1GB dedicated memory.
The Lifebook AH530 GFX has a 15.6-inch LED backlit-panel at 1366 x 768 pixel resolution. The laptop also boasts specs and features including up to 8GB memory onboard, up to 500GB hard disk drive, HDMI output, Gigabit Ethernet LAN, Bluetooth 2.1, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, a DVD writer or a Blu-ray drive, multicard reader, a 1.3 megapixel web camera, and a 6-cell battery which promises up to 4 hours of run time. Moreover, the notebook is powered by Windows Professional operating system and has a spill resistant keyboard and a full numeric keypad for high usability.
The new Fujitsu Lifebook AH530 GFX notebook comes in two color options – ink blue and glossy black. It is already available for pre-order and will start shipping at the end of August for a price which is undisclosed yet.
Shown at the CeBit 2010 in Germany, the Taiwan-based company, MicroStar International, comes with its latest offering – the MSI FX400 multimedia notebook. Though the exact model of this upcoming laptop has not been revealed yet, the company was still good enough to share some of the detailed specs and features of the multimedia laptop.
The 14-inch MSI FX400 boasts an Intel Core i5 processor, and the HM55 chipset. Onboard is a DDR3 RAM which is paired with NVIDIA GeForce GT 325M graphics card with 1GB display memory. The laptop also got the company’s GPU Boost technology which is capable of switching the dedicated processor and the integrated graphics automatically. The hard disk drives vary from 250GB up to 500GB depending on the preference.
As for the rest of the specs, the MSI FX400 comes in a 1366×768 pixel resolution panel, and has a dual-layer DVD writer together with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 1.3 megapixel camera, HDMI output, three USB 2.0 ports, eSATA, and audio jacks. The laptop weighs nearly about 4.9 pounds. Battery-wise, it is powered by a six-cell battery.
More on the features, this mobile electronic has a THX smart surround sound speakers and a Cinema Pro technology to maximize the consumers’ multimedia experience. Finally, there is the Turbo Drive Engine feature to instantly accelerate the performance of the system with one touch on the Turbo (P1) hotkey. This technology allows the notebook to process high load apps without lags.
We might have to wait for a while as MSI has not disclosed any details in terms of its release date and price for the MSI FX400.
The Gateway LT22 features a 10.1-inch display with 1024 x 600 pixel resolution. This newly launched netbook is identical to the specifications of the LT32, with slightly larger 11.6 inch display that Gateway just launched recently.

Gateway LT22 AMD Netbook is powered by 6-cell batteries that can last up to 6.5 hours of use. It runs on Windows 7 Home Premium. Now available at Canada for the price of $335.
Asus, the Taiwan-centered manufacturer of laptop computers, is launching several notebooks under the Asus B series with “B” standing for business. The Asus B Series notebooks are yet another laptop line joining some of the HP notebooks in featuring the Boston-power’s Sonata batteries. Remember Sonata batteries have been very popular as they’re expected to triple the battery life of notebook batteries compared to the conventional laptop batteries? That’s what the series has to offer the consumers.
Under the Asus B series notebooks are the models B43 and B53 which will be available in 14.1 or 15.6-inch LCD screen. The models are also available for configurations with the following specs and features:

Here is the new netbook from Hewlett-Packard, also aimed for business users, – its the new HP Mini 5103. This netbook is identical to HP Mini 5102. The specs netbook includes 10.1 inch Dislay and comes with a choice Intel Atom N455 (1.66 Ghz) or N475 (1.86 Ghz). It has the Intel GMA 3150 Graphics but the buyers also has an option if they want to boost the video using broadcom Cristal ND accelerator.
