Joining the Flip Video camera craze is Kodak which has introduced yet another excellent pocket-snapper camera – the Koday PlayTouch. The Kodak PlayTouch pocket camcorder is actually the company’s first point-and-shoot handycam which is capable of shooting Full 1080p HD videos. Also, the PlayTouch is a competitor to Sanyo’s Xacti VPC-PD2BK which we have written several days ago.

The sleek and stylish Kodak PlayTouch mini-camcorder has specs and features including a 3-inch capacitive touchscreen LCD which gives you room to edit your photos as well as extract stills. It features an LCD glare shield which allows users to use the camera under the bright sunlight environment.  It also boasts a 5MP camera for taking still images with built-in digital image stabilization, SmartFace tracking technology, a built-in USB arm, external stereo speakers, an HDMI output to let you watch your videos on TV without the need of a PC, and a microSD/ SDHC memory card slot which allows expansion for up to 32GB of HD footage.

It also comes with a Share Button which makes it naturally easy for users to upload videos to YouTube, Facebook, and other social networking sites. The PlayTouch comes with a Li-Ion battery which promises up to 10 hours of HD video and will be shipped in variety of hues including – Chrome, Smoke Gaze (Black), Spa Blue (Teal), Wine Country (Magenta), and Cabana (Orange).

Watch out for the Kodak PlayTouch’s release date this fall at a reasonable price tag of $229.95.
