We’ve seen a lot of consumers go crazy about the Flip camcorders.  Maybe the design and concept just go them interested, but it seems as though a new competitor is ready to get head to head with the Flip.   And with that, let’s take a look at the Sanyo Xacti VPC PD2BK pocket camcorder.

The Sanyo Xacti VPC PD2BK is a pocket handycam which has the size of a thick mobile phone.   Despite its thickness, the pocket cam is actually lightweight at 3.7 ounces.  There are no clear details about the specs and features of this “Flip killer” here, but as we see it we can expect specs including the ability to shoot 10 megapixel images or 1080 pixel videos at 30 frames per second into H.264 format.  The pocket-sized camcorder has an integrated USB port which can be easily swiveled for connectivity.  The video camera also comes with a 3x optical zoom lens, 37mm wide angle lens, mini HDMI port, dual camera, dual microphones, Web easy upload to sites like YouTube and other social networking sites, rechargeable Li-Ion battery via USB, and a support for microSD/ SDHC/ SDXC memory cards.

Check out for this guy’s release date by September at a price of $170 in North America. With the cheap price, we can say the Sanyo Xacti VPC PD2BK makes a fascinating alternative to other camcorders and we hope to see better pictures with this one.
