Dubbed as the world’s smallest 3D digital cameras, Sony has unveiled two new models to its Cyber-shot line – the Sony DSC-WX5 and DSC-TX9.  The newly added digital cameras are capable of capturing 3D images with its single lens system via a sweeping motion.

These two new small Sony DSC-WX5 and DSC-TX9 3D Digicams have a 12.2 MP Exmor R CMOS Sensor. The DSC-WX5 sports a 2.8-inch display and a Sony G lens 5x optical zoom.  As for the DSC-TX9, it has a 3.5-inch LCD touchscreen and a Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar 4x optical zoom lens. The cameras are also capable of capturing movies in 1920 x 1080 full high definition resolutions. Both boast the Superior Auto mode providing low-image noise levels and Background Defocus features.

The 3D Sweep Panorama offered by these cameras allows users to take panoramic stills in just one press-and-sweep motion. The captured images then can be viewed in 2D or 3D on well-matched 3D TVs. Onboard, the Sony DSC-WX5 / TX9 digicams have a 32MB memory which supports expansion via the SD or SDHC memory card slot.  Moreover, the cameras feature the Sony’s BIONZ processor as well as an HDMI port.
