Everyone’s going gaga over the Apple iPhone and a lot of iPhone aficionados were surely restless and really stood still for the much awaited updates of the next iPhone at WWDC 2010 in San Francisco. So the next generation iPhone was finally revealed and the new device is dubbed simply as the iPhone 4.
Yeah, its 4 and not 4G as what people usually call. Apple didn’t go with iPhone 4G name because many people would assume that it is 4G ready. Looks like many people are still confuse about the 4G network and the 4th generation of smartphone. Maybe in 2011 when AT&T actually has a 4G network, it will change into 4G.
Okay so, this handset is said to be touted as the “biggest leap since the original iPhone.” Now, let’s have a peek on the fanciful features of this new mobile phone that has already been the talk of the town for days.
As you can see from the pictures, the most noticeable change of the handset is its exterior, appearing exactly like the leaked iPhone as shown by Gizmodo. The design of this smartphone has a glass lining and is stainless steel band which is actually an antenna for signal reception. It is 24 percent slimmer as compared to the 3GS which is considered bulky.
Specs-wise, mobile users will surely get greater clarity of pictures and much smoother fonts because of the handset’s 3.5-inch, 960 x 640p resolution at 326ppi (pixels per inch) thus calling it a Retina display. The phone also has an 800:1 contrast ratio for better color and wider angle viewing and is power driven by the A4 processor which is also the same as the Apple’s iPad.
Apple’s iPhone 4 also got another nifty feature because of its 5 megapixel camera with LED flash as well as 5x digital zoom and autofocus. So even in low light environment, you will be able to take a sharper snapshot from the device. The mobile phone also has ability to record 720p HD video brought together with the new iMovie.
This new handset also sports a front facing camera which features FaceTime. Through this feature, users will be able to make video calls. But, you must be on Wi-Fi and it only supports Apple iPhone 4 handsets only and will not work with other phone models.
Battery-wise, the battery life might be a concern. But the smartphone promises 40 percent more talk time than the previous iPhone model. It can provide up to 7 hours of talk time, 6 hours of 3G browsing, 10 hours of Wi-Fi browsing, and 300 hours of standby time.
The phone will come in white and black colors as well as 32GB or 16GB models. Release date will be on June 24th coming locked with AT&T. The price is $199 for the 16GB model and $299 for the 32GB handset.
This is going to be another waiting game for all those Apple fans that is why let’s feast our eyes on the photos of the new Apple iPhone 4 below.
