Sprint Nextel has made another mark in history by launching a new mobile phone with push-to-talk capabilities, the Motorola i890. It is slicker than most Nextel phones and it offers Sprint features. The user of this phone does not only enjoy the best-in-class push-to-talk services of Nextel Direct Connect, but also the sophisticated multimedia features that this new handset offers.

Motorola i890 Flip Phone features 1.8 inches external display and supports 65, 000 colors with the resolution 160 x 128 pixels. For the internal display it measures 2.2 inches QVGA with the resolution of 240 x 320 pixels.  This handset also features a 2.0-megapixel camera with fixed focus and 4x zoom, 8GB microSD card expansion, and GPS navigation packed into a slim form factor.  This flip phone also includes touch capacitive keys from the external display for easier access.

The user of this handset can also enjoy other specs such as Bluetooth 2.0, built-in Mp3 player, microSD memory card slot, Nextel Direct Connect Services that include International Direct Connect, Group Connect, Direct talk and Direct Send. It can also run java applications and has a speakerphone, media player (with external touch controls), and supports threaded messaging services.

This handset also offers an application manager, USB mass storage, PC syncing, a playback option, and a calculator suite including a currency converter, a standard calculator, a metric converter, and a tool for determining interest and loan payments. As regards the battery, it can stand up to three hours talk time.

On the other hand, Motorola i890 push to talk phone camera has an average photo quality and there are only few editing options on its camcorder. You need to remove the battery cover to get an access to the memory card slot.

Via phone scoop, it was mentioned in there that you can get this handset with its tag price of $129.99. The release date was not mentioned yet.
