Samsung, one of the most well-known in electronics and telecommunications, has unleashed the new Samsung AMOLED Beam (SPH-W9600) as a successor to Samsung Haptic Beam in the Korean market. The company claims that the new handset is the world’s first beam projector phone. The device comes in a full 3.3-inch WVGA (800x480p)  resolution touchscreen display. The Samsung AMOLED Beam has a built-in pico projector that shows or project wide array of contents including photos, videos, games as well as entertainment to its maximum screen size of up to 50 inches. It is also 1.5x brighter than the previous model.

The Samsung SPH-W9600 sports a 5-megapixel camera plus front facing camera for video calling, terrestrial DMB TV Tuner, HSDPA, and Bluetooth version 2.0. It has a total of 11GB internal memory onboard with a memory card slot that can support up to 16GB. The handset measures 56 x 116 x 15.7 mm. SPH-W9600 can also playback DivX codec for convenient use and display MS Office documents. On top of it mobile professionals can use the AMOLED Beam to quickly and basically deliver professional presentations anytime and anywhere.

This lightweight handset is expected to be released in the Korean market by the summer and as for its price will be for 900,000 won or about $806.
