Wikireader – Wikipedia in the Palm of your Hand

This wikireader is a nice gadget for the children and students. Forget about the Encyclopedia Britanica because this handheld device can show you the text-only version of Wikipedia without any internet connection because 3 million articles are already saved in the device.

The wikireader by openmoko is powered by 2 AAA batteries that can last for months according to the company. The handheld wikipedia device has tiny black and white touchscreen and and has virtual keyboard for typed searches. Wikepedia comes on an microSD card. You can update the microSD card through their website or you can have them send you the updated microSD cards via snail mail for a yearly fee of $30.

The only thing you will hate about this wikireader is that it can’t display images.  However, the gadget seems pretty well constructed.
