Cisco has just announced their new ultra-portable tablet PC – the Cius.  The device is being compared to Apple’s ipad although this one is smaller compare to iPad and is aimed for business users.

Cius features a 7-inch high-resolution color screen Android tablet PC and offers access to essential business application and technologies like the telepresence interoperability, real time video, multi conferencing, browsing, email and messaging.

Cisco Cius Android Tablet for Business

Cisco’s Cius tablet PC has front-facing 720p video camera and also a 5 megapixel 30fps rear-facing camera that can transmit either still image or VGA quality video.  The ultraportable tablet is powered by 1.6GHz Intel Atom processor and has 32GB flash memory. As for connectivity, Cisco Cius also comes with 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3G/4G capability, and supports Micro-USB.

The device runs a modified version of the Google Android OS. It is also compatible w/ Cisco’s suite of business application tools such as TelePresence, Cisco Quad, WebEx, and Show & Share.

Cisco Cius only weighs about 1.15 lbs and the company claims that it’s detachable battery can go for eight hours under normal usage.

No words about it’s price but the release date is expected in the 1st quarter of 2011.
